Hello and welcome to the first post by Start Smart Consulting.

Located in Reno, Nevada, Start Smart Consulting (SSC) is a small, highly professional safety and engineering solution company. Founder and Owner Tabitha Maher launched SSC in July of 2017 with the vision of providing safety engineering solutions for startup ventures, companies venturing into new markets (or relocating to a different region) and companies looking for a fresh start on worn out safety programs. SSC offers a wide array of services including safety design review, building & fire code compliance assistance, environmental permitting, pre-manufacturing notices, safety training, standard development, behavior based safety programs, coaching supervisors, and much more.

Maher brings more than ten years of environmental, health and safety experience. After earning her Bachelors of Environmental Science at Alfred University, Maher received her Masters in Environmental Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has worked for the Marathon Oil Corporation as well as Panasonic Corporation of North America in varying supervisory and managerial roles.

Maher has an extensive list of skills including Environmental Awareness, Hazard Identification, Behavior Based Safety, Workplace Safety, Safety Training, Construction Safety and more. She is known by her coworkers as being a “talented, knowledgeable and qualified safety professional” with the unique ability to have a “no compromises” attitude toward safety.
